From the Artist
Maya Angelou once said, “You only are free when you realize you belong no place-you belong every place-no place at all. The Price is high. The reward is great.”

I couldn't find a place that I belonged and external validation was temporarily satiating until I realized that the validation and belonging is in the Self. It is indeed a beautiful epiphany and a difficult journey to experience this novel freedom. With ink and patience, I draw.

My art expresses more eloquently than my words as my paradigm shifts and my value system builds. Intentionally and unintentionally, I make decisions based on fear, shame and guilt.

Moreover, I exhibit behaviors rooted in the need for love, acceptance, worth and security. These skills may have produced successful outcomes when I was younger but as I grow, these behaviors do not give me inner peace. In addition, I have learned that these behaviors stem from certain elements of my belief system that maybe based on a lie. Such realizations cause a paradigm shift that may feel emotionally difficult yet exhilarating.

These art-pieces help through the transition to an evolved self.
I believe that the interpretation lies in the eyes of the beholder. I want to engage my audience in an open and safe dialogue. Before I release my personal interpretation and title of each work, I would like to hear how any of these artwork resonate with you. Please join me at the reception to constructively engage and exhibit your perspective through creating titles for the art pieces! To learn more about Paul, click here
